Voor sommigen van jullie is het misschien al zover en voor anderen is het (hopelijk) niet zo lang meer wachten: Zomervakantie! En hoewel de zomerperiode voor de werkgelegenheid van freelancers vaak wordt aangemerkt als ‘komkommertijd’ ziet het er voor mij naar uit dat ik het de komende maanden HEEL erg druk ga hebben met een heleboel super toffe dingen.
Tot zover is er niks aan de hand; ik houd van mijn werk en ik werk wanneer het nodig is. Dit betekent alleen wel dat ik wellicht niet op vakantie ga deze zomer. Ook al geen enorm probleem (ik kan immers vakantie nemen wanneer het mij uitkomt), maar er is wel iemand in mijn omgeving die koste wat het kost op vakantie wil dit jaar; mijn lama van papier.
En daar komen jullie ‘in the picture’. Want wie mij en mijn blog al een tijdje volgt kent mijn vakantietraditie misschien al wel; de lama-invasie. Ik ga niet op reis zonder lama op een stokje, waarmee ik allerlei kekke vakantiefoto’s maak.

Zoals hier in Londen:

For most of you it can’t be long before summer vacation starts. And although summer is often known as a period of time in which there’s not a lot to do for freelancers like me, it seems like I will be having LOADS of cool projects on hand these coming months.
Don’t get me wrong; that’s not a problem at all. I’ll plan a vacation when I have time for it (one of the many up-sides of being self-employed), but it does mean that I might not be going on vacation this summer. And there’s one special someone in particular that doesn’t like that idea at all: my paper llama.
And that’s why I need your help this summer, because my llama really needs a vacation. I’ve taken it with me on loads of previous trips, like this one to London:

Afijn, mijn lama wil dus op vakantie. En hij wil met jullie allemaal mee! Vandaar dat ik er deze zomer weer een bescheiden foto-wedstrijdje tegenaan smijt. Hoe ik dat voor me zie? Nou, je kunt onderstaande printable gratis downloaden en uitprinten. Knip de lama uit, plak hem op een stokje en neem hem mee op vakantie of dagje uit. Maak zoveel mogelijk leuke foto’s met hem en upload ze op instagram met de hashtag #LLAMAONTOUR (ja, twee L-en, want zo schrijf je lama in het Engels en buitenlandse inzendingen zijn ook welkom!). Zo heeft mijn lama de vakantie van zijn leven!

Long story short: my llama needs a vacation. That’s why I’ll be hosting a little photo-contest this summer. Download the printable below, print it, cut out the llama along the grey dashed lines and glue it to a stick. Then take it with you on vacation or during a daytrip and take loads of touristy photos with it. Upload these photos on instagram using hashtag #LLAMAONTOUR and give my paper llama the vacation of his life!

Ik snap natuurlijk ook wel dat jullie niet ‘voor de kat haar viool’ foto’s gaan maken de hele vakantie, daarom stel ik er iets tegenover: je kunt een franje design lama-pakket winnen als je meedoet! De vraag is dus niet óf je meedoet maar hoe vaak. Je kunt onbeperkt foto’s uploaden op de hashtag (#LLAMAONTOUR) en ik kies een winnaar op vrijdag 14 augustus, die ik via instagram bekend zal maken. Kleine bonus: de leukste inzendingen verzamel ik in een blogartikel op deze blog.
Ondanks dat ik zelf (zoals het er nu naar uit ziet) niet naar het buitenland ga, neem ik mijn lama natuurlijk ook mee als ik leuke dagtripjes ga maken (het kan niet de hele zomer ‘all work and no play’ zijn). Hij gaat het liefst overal mee naartoe, namelijk. Doen jullie gezellig mee?
