Dit is alweer de laatste gast-blog die ik voor Applepiepieces schrijf. Dat betekent niet alleen dat de maand april voorbij is gevlogen, maar dat we ook weer een maandje dichterbij de zomer zijn (Yay!).
En deze week trakteer ik jullie eens op iets heel anders. Want buiten dat ik graag blog over mijn leven en wat mij inspireert ben ik in de eerste plaats illustrator. En bij illustrator zijn hoort illustraties maken. Vandaar dat ik deze blog-serie wil afsluiten met een illustratie over Applepiepieces. Een illustratie met als hoofdthema ‘reizen’. Niet in de laatste plaats omdat de zomer (met zijn verre bestemmingen) nadert, maar vooral omdat ‘reizen’ is waar Applepiepieces wat mij betreft om draait; het opsnuiven van verschillende culturen (die Mariko zo kundig kan omzetten in een sieraad), de reis die ‘het leven’ heet en (om even nog zweveriger te klinken dan ik zonet al deed); de reis naar je innerlijke ‘happy place’.
I can’t believe this is already the last guestblog I will be writing for Applepiepieces. This does not only mean that april has flown by, it also means that we are one month closer to summer (Yay!).
And this week, I will be treating you to a whole different kinda somethin’. Because besides the fact that I love to blog about my life and where I get my inspiration from, I’m first and foremost an illustrator. And with being an illustrator comes making illustrations. That’s why I want to close this blog-series with an illustration about Applepiepieces. It is an illustration with a ‘traveling’ theme. Not in the least because summer (and it’s tropical destinations) is upon us, but especially because ‘traveling’ is what Applepiepieces is all about if you ask me; getting to know new cultures (which Mariko can translate to jewelry so very well), the journey called ‘life’ and (to sound even more spiritual than I already did just now); the journey to your inner ‘happy place’.
