Misschien had je ze al voorbij zien komen op instagram: mijn nieuwe lama shoppers! Aangezien het plastic tasjes verbod een blijvertje is (en maar goed ook overigens hoor!) combineer ik met deze shoppers het nuttige met het aangename. Het idee voor deze shoppers was er al lang, maar ik vond het lastig de keuze te maken tussen het laten bedrukken van de welbekende canvas tas of het met de hand maken van mijn eigen shoppers met lama stof.
Zoals je kunt zien is het de laatste van die twee opties geworden. Niet alleen omdat ik het net even wat bijzonderder vond dan de ‘standaard’ canvas tas, maar ook omdat ik dan een goed excuus heb om eens in de zoveel tijd eens dingen met de hand te maken. Dat is iets waar ik nooit genoeg van krijg.
You might have already seen them on instagram: my new llama tote bags! I’ve had the idea of designing a tote bag for a while, but I had a hard time deciding whether to have canvas tote bags printed with my design or design one myself and make them by hand with my own printed fabric.
As you can see I decided to go with the latter. I did this for two reasons: I thought it a little more special than an ‘ordinary’ printed canvas tote bag AND choosing this option makes me have an excuse to sit down and make some stuff by hand every once in a while. Win-win!

De tas is bovenaan ongeveer 32 cm breed. Naar beneden toe wordt hij iets smaller, omdat er een platte bodem in zit waardoor je items niet platgedrukt worden. Onderaan is de tas ongeveer 26 cm breed. De platte bodem is ongeveer 6,5 cm diep.
De shopper is ongeveer 35 cm hoog.
De stof aan de buitenkant is een combinatie van een donkerbruin-kleurig 100% katoen canvas en een ‘multicolour’ geprint synthetisch suède.
De shopper is niet gevoerd.
De schouderbanden zijn gemaakt van een stof van 100% katoen en zijn voorzien van een ingestreken versteviging voor extra draagkracht.
The details:
The tote bag measures approximately 32 cm (12,6 inch) at the top. It gets a little narrower toward the bottom, as it has a flat bottom that keeps all of your items from getting squashed. The bag measures approximately 26 cm (10,2 inch) in width at the bottom and the flat bottom is about 6,5 cm (2,6 inch) wide.
The height of the tote bag is approximately 35 cm (4,7 inch).
The outside fabric is a combination of a dark brown coloured 100% cotton-canvas and a multicolour printed synthetic faux suede.
The tote bag is unlined.
The straps are made of 100% cotton fabric and are lined with an interfacing for more strength.
De shopper met cactussen is op dit moment even uitverkocht (dat ging heel snel!), maar ik beloof jullie dat ik ze zo snel mogelijk ga bijmaken. Van de bruine versie met pastel-bandjes zijn er nog twee verkrijgbaar in mijn Etsy shop.

The tote bag with the cacti is sols out for now (that went really fast!) but I promise I’ll make some more of that one in the near future. I have two more of the other colourway available in my Etsy shop right now.
