I noticed that a few months ago I got a little stuck in the after-graduation-depression we were warned about in art school.
I thought it was all rubbish, but after the ‘post-grad-party-feeling’ was over, it hit me: ‘So, now what?’
I found myself being a little negative about how I was supposed to be getting my business up and running, have a social life and take in all the advice I got on how to do things, or not. On that note, I guess I haven’t been the best girlfriend to John at the time. Which is why I set up a 35-day project in the 35 days up to his 35th birthday, which was this monday. Although it sounds pretty cliché; it really was time for me to count my blessings and so I did. I counted one every day. Every day, from October 7th until November 10th (the day before is birthday) I wrote down a reason why I loved him and I presented him with all these reasons on his birthday. I must say it was really good for my mood and my view on life. I don’t know if it’s just the project or a combination of that and me finding my way in living my life a little better, but (finally), I now find myself at a much better place.
(All the reasons I wrote down are in Dutch, but it’s just to give you an impression of the project)
